Far and Away's last visit to Barbados was filled with culinary delight and fantastic resort experiences. Who wouldn't enjoy an incredible tasting menu from the chef at one of the hottest restaurants in Barbados, 13/59? Which happens to be located in a fabulous luxury marina resort of Port Ferdinand Luxury Resort and Residences. With beautifully decored villas, exceptional dining and yacht service outside your doorstep. A great friends getaway, spa weekend or yachting experience awaits!
Travel was perfect with a lovely invitation from Jet Blue and the Barbados Tourist board to fly on the inaugural Jet Blue "Mint" service to Barbados. It was a treat to be pampered with special touches from a Birch Box and deliciously fresh tapas style dining. The lie-flat seats with massage features and mini solo suites with their own privacy doors placed this first class service to the Caribbean on an entirely different level than any other Barbados flight previously experienced.
Barbados, located in the eastern Caribbean, is an independent island nation within the British Commonwealth. Bridgetown, the capital, is a cruise-ship stop with shopping, colonial buildings and one of the Western Hemisphere's oldest synagogues. Barbadian traditions range from afternoon tea and cricket (the national sport) to pursuits such as scuba diving at Dottins Reef and golfing on designer ocean-side courses. Known for its fine dining and warm locals.
We look forward to helping you plan your next Barbados experience. Here are a few of our favorite experiences from this journey...
Guests feel coddled from the moment they check in, not at a desk, but in their spacious rooms with blue-drenched vistas. Everything is over-the-top luxurious: there are three golf courses and the island's largest and most renowned spa. The warm service and a relaxing beach scene keep that unmistakable Barbados balance of barefoot-chic.
Fairmont Royal Pavillion
The Fairmont Royal Pavilion Barbados is a luxurious hideaway. Offering elegantly decorated oceanfront rooms, which are outfitted with Elite pillow top beds, flat-screen TVs and furnished balconies. A visit to Port Ferdinand's new luxury marina restaurant 13/59 was a highlight. With seasonal dishes prepared only with the islands freshest ingredients. Showcasing the best of Barbados! Chef Andy and Roz Turner are an incredible culinary duo!
